BRAKE LIGHT SWITCHES DETERIORATE WITH AGE CAUSING THEM TO MALFUNCTION.  IF YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS DON'T COME ON WITH A SMALL AMOUNT OF PRESSURE APPLIED TO THE BRAKE PEDAL, IT'S TIME TO REPLACE YOUR SWITCH.  WE RECOMMEND ALWAYS USING A NEW SWITCH WHEN INSTALLING A NEW MASTER CYLINDER.
